Full-Stack Deal Execution: Skills, Templates, and Integrations

Every PE professional knows the feeling. A new CIM lands in your inbox at 9 AM and your IC wants a screening package by the end of day. What follows is a familiar grind: re-explaining your analytical framework to the AI, toggling between your CRM, data providers, and research platform, manually formatting outputs into the right memo structure, and hoping the numbers actually compute rather than just look plausible.

Today we're announcing three features that work together to eliminate that grind entirely: Skills, Templates, and Connected Apps

Each one solves a distinct problem.

Together, they turn Brightwave into an execution engine for your firm's analytical methodology, taking you from "new CIM in inbox" to "IC-ready screening package" in a few minutes instead of  hours, or even days.

Here's what's new and why it matters.

Define Your Methodology Once. Apply It Forever.

Imagine how you teach a new associate or analyst. The first time they have a task, you explain how you want the research conducted (hopefully) you never have to tell them how to do it again.

Skills are similar. They’re instruction sets that encode how your firm analyzes deals. Instead of re-typing your 12-point CIM screening framework every time you start a new analysis, you save it as a Skill. The agent applies it automatically whenever you ask for a CIM screen.

The real power is composability. Skills can reference other Skills, so your full due diligence process (financial normalization, customer analysis, management assessment, market sizing, competitive positioning, risk scoring) chains automatically from a single request. One prompt triggers your entire proprietary DD workflow.

For managing directors worried about institutional knowledge walking out the door when a senior partner retires, Skills preserve that methodology permanently. For associates, Skills provide access to frameworks that senior professionals spent years developing, built into every analysis from day one.

Deliverables in Your Firm’s Specific Format

Using the same analogy, once that analyst or associate has completed their research, you would give them a document in your firm's exact style and format to replicate. Templates behave identically.

Save any Brightwave report as a reusable Template that encodes your structure, analytical framework, formatting, and output specifications. The next time you need an IC memo, a quarterly portfolio review, or a credit analysis report, apply the Template to new source materials and receive a structurally complete first draft in minutes.

Templates support multi-format output. The same Template produces reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and Word documents, all from a single analysis pass, with numbers and conclusions guaranteed consistent across every deliverable. No more discovering that the memo says one thing while the deck says another because different analysts reformatted the same data.

Templates also integrate directly with Skills. Your CIM screening Skill can specify that output should follow your IC screening memo Template, so the entire chain from methodology to formatted deliverable runs without manual intervention.

For teams managing 15+ portfolio companies, Templates eliminate the quarterly formatting scramble. Every operating review uses the same structure, every board deck follows the same standard, and your LPs see institutional-grade consistency regardless of which associate prepared the materials.

Your Data Stack, Connected

Connected Apps let you wire your existing tools directly into Brightwave's analytical workflows. Configure an API connection to your CRM, meeting transcription service, or data provider in Settings, enable it per project, and agents pull context from those systems automatically during analysis.

The practical impact: when an agent screens a CIM, it can pull the banker's prior deal history from HubSpot, the latest comparable transaction data from your data provider, and relevant call transcripts from Fireflies, all without you switching between browser tabs. Every analysis incorporates your firm's full institutional context.

Connected Apps also work in reverse. When an agent completes a screening and produces a pass/pursue recommendation, it can push that summary back into your CRM so your deal pipeline stays current without manual data entry.

Security is built into the architecture. API credentials are AES-encrypted and stored in AWS Secrets Manager with automatic rotation. Per-project access controls let you decide exactly which integrations are available in which context. Domain-level SSRF protection validates every external request. Your compliance team can approve these integrations with confidence.
